A couple of months ago, American Pinball (AP) pushed back the scheduled reveal of its next pinball machine, which had been rumored to be making its debut at Pinball Expo. At the time AP told distributors that they didn't want to release the game, which is rumored to be based on the 2017 videogame Cuphead, so close to Expo because there was so many other game launches then.
Well, here we are headed into November. Expo has come and gone. As far as I know, we do not have any new game reveals scheduled for November, but the clock is ticking on the reveal of Spooky Pinball's next game, likely based on Evil Dead, in December. I also expect Stern Pinball to reveal its next cornerstone machine at the very end of December or early January (my guess for that at this point is Dungeons and Dragons).
So...if American Pinball's next game is indeed ready, now is the time to show it off IMHO (aka In My Humble Opinion). Will they reveal it in November? It's hard to say, through we did just get the following message from American on its Facebook page:
Coming to IAAPA?
Stop out & see what’s new from
American Pinball
Booth 1894…
Is AP really bringing something new to the IAAPA Amusement Industry show, which takes place from 11/18 - 11/22 in Orlando, Florida? We will see. I'm looking forward to seeing what they've been working on.
After making its last post on the social media site all the way back in January, Chicago Gaming Company has been really active on its Facebook page today. Looking at the comments section of the Pulp Fiction LE post that I referenced in my previous article, I found a treasure trove of information:
"We'll be doing the North American LEs all in a consecutive run, so to get through all 1000 we're expecting it to take until late February, possibly early March."
"MMR's on the schedule for 2025, currently looking like spring. We still need to fine tune some details, but they're a-comin'!"
"USA is part of the North American batch, along with Canada. Those games should start shipping in December."
"Mylar was added to the right orbit switch, where the ball exits the shooter lane, after the first 500 games or so. That will be present on the LEs.
The LEs will also have anti-loft plastic above the MPH target to help protect the mirror blades."
"All shall be revealed in due time for the MMR! We're still working on all the details, and we want to have that all locked in before we make announcements and start taking pre-orders - hoping to bring y'all a shorter lead time going forward."
"We haven't made any announcements one way or another beyond next spring's run of Medieval Madness, so I'd currently rank AFM at "Never say never!""
"...My goal for the coming year is to post more frequent updates about the latest goings-on here at CGC, along with some behind the scenes posts about how we make our quality games. Thanks for the support!"
Whoa, this is the most information that the public has gotten directly from CGC in years! Good on them for taking the time to reply to customers and as they said hopefully being more transparent in the future.
