The pinball reveal schedule for the second half of 2024 is coming together nicely. Let's talk about Spooky Pinball next. Yesterday, Don's Pinball Podcast published a fantastic interview with Bug Emery of Spooky Pinball that he recorded at the recent Southern Fried Gaming Expo.
The interview contained a ton of great information about Spooky. Below are my notes from the podcast episode, starting things off with big news about its next game:
The last three Spooky Pinball games, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes & Texas Chainsaw Massacre have launched in December. “That’s kind of our area of launch that we would like to claim”
They don’t have to finish all of the Looney Tunes / Texas Chainsaw Massacre builds to launch a new game. Their factory, particularly the new facility, is capable of building several different titles at the same time.
Speaking of the new factory, Spooky is getting ready to move into its new building “in the next couple of months”
At its current facility, Spooky is currently building a 3-to-1 ratio of Looney Tunes to Texas Chainsaw Massacre
People who order a Looney Tunes or Texas Chainsaw Massacre today can expect delivery in January, mid-Winter
If Looney Tunes sells out (888 units), Bug said that he's "pretty confident that we’ll create an upgraded topper for it."
Spooky has an astonishing five licenses for future pinball machines "locked in and committed." They have no current plans for a double release like the last launch.
Bug claimed that he is constantly dropping clues about next game, so keep scanning those videos and watching the Spooky streams and maybe we can figure out what's up next. Bug is wearing a King Kong t-shirt in the snapshot that I took of his latest video from the new factory building below. There's been talk for a couple of years now though that Stern Pinball has the King Kong license. Hmmmmmm.
DPP #138 Chill summer vibes, and a Spooky Interview!
