As we all eagerly await the reveal of Stern Pinball’s upcoming Metallica Remastered pinball machine, all sorts of rumors about the game are flying around.
We know that the original Metallica artist, Dirty Donny, is not doing the art on the upcomming version of the game. For a while, people thought that Zombie Yeti was going to do the art. More recently, people thought that the art was being done by Jesse Hernandez aka Urban Aztec.
Well, a third artist has entered the ring…a highly-regarded Australian artist named Rhys Cooper. He is known for his rock gig posters, has pictures of Metallica art in his website, he shared the Stern teaser trailer for the new Metallica on social media today and he’s friends with members of the Stern art team on Facebook.
Is the third time the charm? Is this what the art on the new Metallica will look like? I have no idea, but my money is on on Rhys Cooper being the artist. We’ll see very soon.

I'm not even a big Metallica fan (albeit engaging in obligatory headbanging to Enter Sandman anytime, anywhere).
But this art is amazing and would absolutely attract me to playing this machine.
Thank God. Only thing I didn't like on the orginal was the art. Really disliked it. My LE is orderd. And I don't have an issue with them putting out an LE on this because it's not the same game. So people can relax on that. As an LE owner of several others myself this isn't an upsetting situation. Like it was with Elvira or JP. Can't wait to see this reveal tomorrow.

Seems very dark color wise. I prefer Dirty Don. And so much for Stern not doing LE’s for re-releases. LE’s are becoming more and more worthless. Surprised no one is talking about this.
With these reruns of games, like SW comic art, values are going to tank more. I understand pinball is not an investment, but who the hell wants to take a $2000 to $3000 hit on selling a used game.
With high prices for NIB, and big hits in the secondary market, things are not looking good. I just want King Kong and I am done.
