Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix Release Full Trailer for New NBA SUPERSTARS Arcade Game

After sharing a brief teaser implying that it was about to roll out a new NBA-themed arcade game on Friday, and some...including myself speculating that it might mark the return of the iconic classic NBA Jam to arcades, this afternoon Raw Thrills dropped the full trailer for its upcoming game NBA SUPERSTARS.

While the game isn't officially named "NBA Jam," it does mark the return of the NBA to video arcade games for the first time in thirty years. NBA SUPERSTARS includes all 30 NBA teams and 120 players...leading me to believe that it features the same four players per team for players to choose from that NBA Jam had.

As had ben debated on Friday, the initial teaser video did include the iconic voice of the original NBA Jam announcer Tim Kitzrow. The 4-player machines feature a whopping 75" monitor and team color-coordinated LEDs.

This game, which is expected to launch this summer, actually looks pretty awesome. I'd play the heck out of it with my sons or friends at an arcade.

"After a three-decade wait, the NBA has made a triumphant return to the arcade. In partnership with the National Basketball Association and the National Basketball Players Association, Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix are ecstatic to introduce NBA SUPERSTARS - a rim-rattling, backboard-shattering three-versus-three basketball blockbuster!

From all-time legends LeBron James and Stephen Curry to popular phenomenons Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo, NBA Superstars features an unprecedented 120 NBA players across all 30 NBA teams, including iconic franchises such as the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls. In NBA Superstars, players take the court with their favorite team and larger-than-life Superstar to dominate their opponent through a combination of high-flying dunks, sky-scraping three-pointers and lock-down defense, fired up by the bombastic voice of Tim Kitzrow. The competitive, explosive gameplay is enhanced by the ability to create online player accounts to track game results and statistics. An animated LED stadium scoreboard crowns the epic NBA Superstars cabinet, which dazzles with an electrifying 75-inch display, camera flash-simulating marquee lights, team color-coordinated RGB LEDs and four dynamic player positions.

Are you ready to become a Superstar? NBA Superstars is tipping off Summer 2024 and is now available to order with all authorized Raw Thrills distributors."

From downtown! It's good!

Indeed this looks so so good. NBA Jam is one of the all-time best stand-up arcade games and Superstars is clearly aiming to hit all the notes. If the gameplay delivers I will play the heck out of this at the arcade.
