In an interesting new development for the upcoming pinball machine based on The Princess Bride, new shipments of replacement parts from the retailer Pinball Life have begun arriving at customers homes with teaser fliers for the game.
The flier shows an image of a silhouette of a pinball machine. It's tough to say whether that is just a generic image or if it's the actual cabinet that the game will come in. There has been some chatter that The Princess Bride will be a third-party module for the Multimorphic P3 pinball system, but I have no personal knowledge that is definitely the case. That cabinet could be a P3 I suppose.
The hype for the game has been slowly building, with the last e-mail to subscribers of the mailing list on the website containing a small image of part of the playfield and now the fliers. I wonder if the game will make its debut at the upcoming Texas Pinball Festival, which is right around the corner - March 15 - 17 in Frisco, Texas? I hope so. I'm really curious to see what this is all about, plus my wife loves that movie.
I am hoping it is a stand alone game. Such a strongtheme deserves a full playfield not 1/3 of one in the P3.. P3 has its place and is neat but really hoping this is a stand aline machine as it is my wife's favorite movie and could be an instant buy if done right!
Very strong theme. Hope it translates to sales
