Here's an unexpected treat. Josh Sharpe, who has been hard at work on the highly anticipated expansion to Chicago Gaming Company's Cactus Canyon Remake pinball machine, just shared a series of fancy teasers for the game's new modes and rules on Pinside.
He specifically said that he's being careful not to reveal any of the game's new hardware that will be sold with the expanded code. That hardware is rumored to include a spinner for the game and possibly other items.
The new Cactus Canyon kits are purportedly close to being ready to reveal, it remains to be seen whether it will make its first public appearance at this week's Chicago Pinball Expo. If not, I suspect that it will be shown off sometime later this month or in November. We'll see. I can't wait to check it out!
I mentioned in my reveal article for Dutch Pinball Exclusive’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland next week that the game will be making its public debut at Pinball Expo.
In addition to that, the folks from Dutch Pinball will be conducting a seminar at the show on Friday, October 18th at 5:00 PM. I assume that the presentation will include a lot of great information about the development of Alice, but will there be more? Some people have been looking at the title of the seminar, “Where We Are & Where We Are Going” and speculating that the “Where We Are Going” part is a reference to Dutch’s rumored next game after Alice, the popular 1985 film “Back to the Future.”
At the end of the movie, the character Doc Brown famously says “Roads? Where we are going we don’t need roads”
Will we get our first official acknowledgment from Dutch that they are working on a Back to the Future pin at the show? We’ll see.
This morning I talked about all of the awesome custom and homebrew pinball machines that will make an appearance at Pinball Expo. Well, it’s time to add another one to the list.
John Manuelian, a mainstay of the homebrew pinball community, recently announced that he is bringing his new remake of the legendary Pinball Circus pinball machine to the show.
Back in 1994, the famous pinball artist and designer Python Anghelo created two prototype units of what may be the most unique pinball machine ever conceived, Pinball Circus. One of those prototypes now resides in Las Vegas’s Pinball Hall of Fame, but it broke a year or so ago and thus far they have been unable or unwilling to fix it. The other is supposedly in a private collection.
So this new recreation may be the closest that many of us come to ever playing this iconic piece of pinball history in person. Below I have included some info about the new version as well as a fascinating video by Kevin Carringron about the history of the game.
Any updates on the Dutch session? Anything new announced or referenced regarding BTTF?? 🤞 Thx!
Get some video of The Pinball Circus, if it really happens.
So in this announcement we are getting teasers for a game released/announced in 2019, still can't complete code .
Pinball Circus started 2 games and nothing
Only good news here is DPX
Thanks for the updates nicely done as usual
