This morning at 10:00 AM Eastern, Multimorphic revealed the next game for its P3 pinball platform - Portal. Portal is a video game franchise that was originally released by Valve as a puzzle-platform game in 2007. A sequel to the original game, Portal 2, was released in 2011.
The game contains art by Brad Albright, voice work by Ellen McLain and Marc Silk and music by Scott Danesi. The design and coding team include Stephen Silver, Michael Ocean, TJ Weaver, Rory Cernuda, Ian Harrower and Trey Jones.
The base Portal P3 kit is priced at $3,900 and a Complete P3 system with Portal costs $11,620. An Extended version of the game is available for an additional $1,600 as a kit and an extra $880 on the full machine. The game's topper is sold separately for $750.
I have included all of the official launch information and pictures below:
"Portal is an officially licensed title based on the Portal video game franchise from Valve Corporation, and it's a pinball game like no other! The playfield features, the artwork, and the game software (rules, audio, and video) complement each other in the best ways possible. You'll find yourself immersed in the "portable testing unit" that we've created for the game, while interacting with more physical pinball mechs than we've ever delivered before. The team has created something truly special, and we're excited for you all to experience it on your own P3s.
The game is available in two different versions: Portal Standard and Portal Extended. Portal Standard includes the most advanced upper playfield module we've ever created for the P3. Portal Extended includes that same upper playfield module and adds even more interactive shots and mechanisms in the lower portion of the P3's playfield with an easy-to-swap, drop-in lower playfield module extension. The Portal game software detects the presence of the module extension and adjusts the game rules accordingly.
The Portal Standard game kit can be purchased standalone (for existing P3 owners) for $3,900 and installed in a new P3 for $11,620.
The Portal Extended game kit can be purchased standalone (for existing P3 owners) for $5,500 and installed in a new P3 for $12,500.
An interactive Portal topper is available separately.
The team of brilliant developers associated with this game include:
Co-creative Directors: Ian Harrower (Software), Michael Ocean (Software), and Stephen Silver (Animations)
Mechanicals: TJ Weaver (Lead Engineer) and Trey Jones
Artist: Brad Albright
Technical Artist / Animations: Rory Cernuda
Audio: Scott Danesi
Voices: Marc Silk, Ellen McLain
Portal represents the 24th game available for the P3 Pinball Platform and the 9th playfield module. One Machine, Many Games, Endless Fun, and it keeps getting better!
We'll have Portal available for play in our booth at the Texas Pinball Festival this weekend, and Multimorphic distributor Justin Wise will have one at the Midwest Gaming Classic in early April. More show announcements are coming soon. We're excited to see you all enjoying it!"
From the Website:
Portal is a pinball game based on the Portal series of video games from Valve. While playing the game, you will interact with many physical and virtual features modeled after elements from the Portal 1 and Portal 2 video games. The physical playfield is packed full of interactive mechs and 10 RGB illuminated physical playfield portals and 6 additional scoop portals, through which the pinball can “travel through” instantly.
There are two editions of the game, Portal Standard and Portal Extended. Both editions include the same upper playfield module and game software, while the extended edition also includes the Portal module extension. The Portal module extension floats over the screen and brings gameplay closer to the flippers with additional decorated catwalks, a physical spinner, four physical targets, a third dynamic ramp, the hidden gel tube kickback mechanism, and the elevated, cross-playfield Hard Light Bridge experience. After adding a connection point to your left side target module, swapping in the Portal module extension is as simple as removing the inlane wireforms, lowering the module extension in from above, securing it with 4 screws, and connecting the cable harnesses to their mates on the sides of the upper playfield module. The game software detects the presence of the module extension and adjusts the game rules accordingly.
Portal Standard is a 3-flipper game (including the flipper in the LOFT on the module). Portal Extended also uses the left side target flipper, making it a 4-flipper game. The Portal Extended Game Kit therefore requires a Left Side-Target Flipper Assembly. New P3s come with this flipper assembly pre-installed. P3s built prior to 2022 did not.

Gameplay
Each player starts gameplay in “the Hub” which is thematically similar to the Portal 2 Cooperative Testing Initiative location of the same name. In the Hub you will meet Reggie, the “Teambuilding” Personality Core (voiced by Marc Silk) who will encourage and direct you to complete specific objectives or enter and complete the 7 unique Test Chambers. After completing all the chambers you will have the chance to battle GLaDOS (voiced by Ellen McLain), the AI antagonist who supervises and taunts you throughout the game. If you complete all the test chambers, you can play the final wizard mode: a face-to-face battle with GLaDOS.
The Test Chambers include:
The Big Fling
Encouragement via Discouragement
Proactive Energy Redirection
It Takes Two
Shortcuts
Gels
Rat Man’s Den
When not in a specific Test Chamber, your goal in the Hub is to prove your skills and increase your score by completing each of 8 objectives and 3 stackable Multiball Modes. Each Objective and Multiball focuses on different aspects of the physical playfield.
The Hub Objectives are:
Ramp Combos
Loop Combos
Repulsion Gel
Momentum Jump
Portal Mini-Loops
Hard Light Bridge
All Ports
All Targets
The Multiballs available in the Hub are stackable with one another, feature an add-a-ball component, and can be stacked with objectives. They include:
Faith Plate Multiball
Turret Multiball
Edgeless Safety Cube Multiball
The folks at the Loserkid Pinball Podcast did a great reveal interview with the game's design team:

Looks great. The hate this platform gets from a vocal minority of the hobby is insane. This is so cool looking!
