After much speculation that they were going to be unable to “recapitalize” over the past several months, it appears as though the other shoe may have finally dropped for the Australian manufacturer of Fathom Revisited, Haggis Pinball.
First earlier this week an Australian gentleman noted on Facebook that he saw a large dumpster in front of Haggis’ factory being loaded with stuff. This was followed by Kaneda’s Pinball Podcast sharing a picture of a moving van being loaded up at the factory.
Now this evening Kineticist noticed that Haggis’ website has been taken down. According to others on social media apparently the Haggis Pinball Facebook page, Instagram account and YouTube channel have been taken down as well.
None of this is particularly surprising to folks who have been following this situation, but it is sad news nonetheless that people who ordered games directly from Haggis.
UPDATE: An Australian Pinside member looked up Haggis Pinball’s business records and it lists the company as being in “External Administration.” According to Google, this means:
“External administration is a general term that refers to a process that involves appointing an insolvency professional to a company or its property when it is unable to pay its debts. The professional, known as an external administrator, is responsible for saving or winding up the business in the interests of all creditors.”
It also appears as though Haggis has been appointed a liquidator.
Damn, sorry to hear. Pinball is hard. I was excited about grabbing one of those Centaur. Shout out to Flip N Out for making me whole on the deposit.
