This afternoon, Dutch Pinball shared a social media post stating that as a result of the new tariffs in the United States, it is adjusting the production order of its second game, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
Dutch is going to prioritize building and shipping games that are destined for the European market first. Production of games that are destined for Europe will take the Company several months to complete. Once that is complete, Dutch will reassess the situation.
U.S. customers who want their games sooner than that can reach out to their distributor and try to get one of the games destined for Europe, but at the current time these machines would be subject to an estimated 20% tariff. Based on the game's $12,499 an additional 20% charge would amount to $2,500.
This is the first direct response to the new tariff policy from a pinball manufacturer. It will be interesting to see how other companies respond in the coming months.
"**Impact of Recently Proposed Tariffs on the Pinball Industry**
The import tariffs proposed by President Trump last Wednesday are having far-reaching effects on global trade—and unfortunately, the pinball industry is not exempt. These impacts can be both indirect (for example, components manufactured in China and used in U.S.-produced pinball machines are now subject to an increased tariff up to 54%!) and direct, especially when it comes to pinball machines manufactured outside of the U.S.
Dutch Pinball falls into the latter category.
As a result, we’ve decided to prioritize production and shipment of *Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland* units destined for markets outside the U.S. This phase will take several months to complete. During this time, we’ll closely monitor how the situation evolves, as trade decisions of this nature are often highly volatile—appearing and disappearing with little notice.
For U.S.-based customers eager to receive their *Alice* machines sooner, we recommend contacting your distributor directly. Please be aware, however, that due to the new tariffs, you should be prepared for an, currently, estimated up to 20% price increase.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we navigate these challenges together."
On a related note, a new factory tour of Dutch Pinball just appeared on YouTube this weekend. It shows Alice machines on the production line:

Smart move! Should be interesting to see what happens. Not surprised they are making the customer pay the full 20%. Should be split among the manufacturer distributor and customer.
This is the smartest move for them. Wait for the dust to settle before making big decisions about the US market.
but stupid people keep telling me tariffs are a good thing and all the financial people in the world are wrong
