I have one more article for everyone before the Turkey drops. This one is about American Pinball (AP). In his latest episode, Don from Don's Pinball Podcast talked about how he met up with AP's David Fix at the recent IAAPA Amusement Industry trade show in Orlando (which is an unbelievably amazing show by the way...I will go one of these years).
According to Don, AP's next game, which is based on the 2017 video game franchise Cuphead, is in production right now. Supposedly, why they're not having people do factory tours right now.
He said that American is planning on doing a January or February release. Don went on add that there apparently was a Cuphead behind closed doors at Pinball Expo that some people had a chance to see.
He personally witnessed some operators stop by the American Pinball booth and purchase Hot Wheels and a Barry O's BBQ Challenge.
In response to recent rumors about the company, David Fix told Don "The rumor is that every barbecue is unsold, sitting in the warehouse, and they're not even going to be able to order parts for Cuphead until those are all sold." is not true. He added "I've reached out to media people, and they don't seem to want me to have on to clear this up. We've had no problems selling through at least the Limited Edition Barry O's Barbecue Challenges."
Editor's note, no one from AP has reached out to me on the subject, though I also never mentioned that specific rumor here.
Don said that Fix told him that American has only four BBQ Challenge Limited Edition machines left, but that he took that with "heavy grains of salt."
Below is a link to the specific episode of Don's always awesome podcast for people who want to give it a listen.
