Here's another Arcade Report re-post from Facebook for those who missed it last week:
"Arcade Stop #2 on my recent trip to Colorado was the Manitou Springs Penny Arcade. Visiting there was a trip back in time. The arcade, which is comprised of several different buildings along an entire block of the town, has been continuously operated by the family for over 90 years!
The collection includes some of the coolest old mechanical games that I have ever seen on location. Mixed in with that are the arcade classics from the 70s and 80s all the way up to newer Stern Pinball machines and redemption games. The collection is so eclectic and truly unique.
The arcade itself is located in a unique town with lots of cool stores along a main street and a rich history. The town dates back hundreds of years to when it was established to be a base for Colorado gold miners and later as a vacation destination for the amazing natural springs that exist there. The water is naturally carbonated. Carbonated water pumps out of wells at a number of locations across town, sort of like Perrier. Each well has its own unique set of minerals in the water. One is known for its Iron content, another for Magnesium. It’s a really cool area."
