After several weeks of turmoil, this afternoon American Pinball’s (AP) new Director of Sales and Marketing, Ron Lindeman, e-mailed an update to distributors.
AP told its dealer network that it is still honoring warranties and shipping replacement parts for its games and even currently has machines on the production line - Hot Wheels, Houdini and Barry O’s Barbecue Challenge.
AP is in the process of hiring more production employees and a new Service Lead to support the launch of its next pinball machine.
All of the future products that American Pinball has been working on are “still in play” but the Company plans to survey distributors and the public to make sure that they are likely to be successful before continuing.
This letter to distributors confirms a lot of what I said about American Pinball earlier this week in my article titled:
Coming Soon…American Pinball 4.0
As you can tell, I have decided to end my previous self-imposed moratorium on writing about American Pinball. My pause in writing about them was based upon a number of factors, including being sick of constantly having to retract things that I wrote about AP that turned out to be exaggerated or flat out lies, concern about someone at the company coming after me and my livelihood and concern about possibly of being sucked into a pending lawsuit that AP is involved in. I now feel a little better about the direction AP is headed and I have decided to resume writing about them.
