Additional Information on Stern Pinball’s X-Men; Changes to Limited Edition

Earlier this afternoon, Stern Pinball teased its next Cornerstone pinball machine, “The Uncanny X-Men,” designed by Jack Danger. See my previous post for the trailer.

In this post, I’m going to talk about some interesting information that I’ve heard about the game. First up, Stern is rumored to be changing the production order on this title and building all of the Limited Edition games first. Furthermore, Stern is reducing the number of LEs to 811.

The pricing for X-Men will remain unchanged from previous Stern Cornerstone releases. This represents two years since they have increased prices.

After the run of Limited Edition machines is complete, Stern will produce Pro and Premium models with priority given to locations. Pro production will be late September into early October. Premium production will take place in mid-October.

As I mentioned in my previous article, we will see the full reveal of the game on September 4th.

Wonder if the Sentinel will be static on the Pro? On the Premium/LE it pops up from the playfield!

I love X-Men, by far my fav comic when I was a kid, but I'm honestly more excited to see a new Jack Danger layout than another Marvel themed pinball

I'm not an LE buyer but this seems like a simple move by Stern to value and prioritize LE buyers. The factory can knock those out fairly quickly and then move to the 1st run of location Pro machines. That's only something like 2 to 3 weeks of production. It honors the price Stern's LE buyers pay and puts them first in line.

With all of the blowback Stern has received about "disrespecting" the LE buyers by revisiting "LE lite" runs of JP 30th, Elvira BRK, etc., this is a good move as is the slightly lower LE production number.

Would love to put this next to our X-men Arcade 1-up which has a custom Giant Sentinel head funko topper! Can't wait for the full reveal!

Am I clearly missing the significance of the number 811?

It’s relevant to the X-Men story that’s the theme of the game. Someone explained it to me earlier. I’ll write about it when I have a chance.
